On of these methods is an online survey. It can be quite challenging to develop well write online survey that extracts exactly info from your customers you need.

Here is a guideline you can go along with:

1.Your survey should be brief and concise

To accomplish this you need to create mental picture of your customers. What is your current knowledge of your market. Use everything available to you at the moment. Use it as a foundation to build your successful survey.

Keep in mind that people do not like to read complicated and long surveys. They don’t see it to be worth their time. People in our society live hectic life. They all rush somewhere. People tend to skim through material presented to them online.

Another thing to consider when devising your survey is font type and text size. You could loose large percentage of your sampled market just because your survey is difficult to read.

2.Begin your survey with interesting and engaging question

We live in the society where everyday we are exposed to advertising messages and to different kinds of surveys coming to you from all different directions.
Make your survey stand out of the crowd. As usually use the headline to build interest.

3. Develop questions with answers in the proper format for your purposes

For example, if you believe your students need more time to complete the questions in your lesson, ask, “How long did it take you to complete the unit and accompanying questions?” with various time intervals as possible answers. This is better than asking, “Do you need more time to finish the unit and accompanying questions?” with yes or no as possible responses.

4.Plan in advance how to process collected data

Allocate all the necessary resources to process your collected data.Plan how you can validate the data to make sure you can base your business decision on your data.

5.Use closed-end questions

Design your survey so it can be answered with simple answers, for example: Strongly Agree, Agree ,Disagree and so on….
Your aim is to collect quantitative data not opinions of your customers.

5. Do not use formal language

Write in the language like you would talk to your friend. Don’t let your customers feel that what you are doing is another way to take their money.
